Millenáris Széllkapu Park is one of Budapest’s largest urban green space revitalization projects, transforming a previously neglected 2.5-hectare site into a modern, multifunctional community park. During the development, more than 17,000 m² of new green space, 355 pre-grown trees, as well as a pond, a hanging garden, and landscape elements themed around forest, field, and water were created, providing unique ecological value and high recreational quality.
The park is fully accessible and equipped with bicycle storage and a Bubi station at three different locations. The stairwells, hospitality facilities, and above-ground structures are complemented by green roofs and modern, energy-efficient cladding systems. The spectacular three-dimensional green wall installation offers a unique urban experience while significantly improving the neighborhood’s microclimate.
Today, Széllkapu Park is a vibrant, multifunctional community space: an ideal spot for walking, relaxing, outdoor activities, and family events, and it serves as an important green link between the existing parts of Millenáris and the surrounding urban fabric.
