West Hungária Bau Kft. is committed to supporting children in need and families facing difficult circumstances. Whether through the donation of anaesthesia machines suitable for ventilation to the Petz Aladár County Teaching Hospital in Győr, the donation of a therapeutic massage bed to the Bárczi Gusztáv Kindergarten, Primary School, Skills Development School and Dormitory, or the procurement of everyday supplies for the Mother, Infant and Children’s Home in Győr, WHB consistently seeks to provide meaningful support where it is needed most.
The most talented young participants can already enjoy the work of seamstress Alíz Bíró Józsefné: the winners of WHB’s first drawing competition are now happily cuddling the soft plush toys. Soon, however, even more children will be able to become the proud owners of a little beaver, as Attila Paár, owner and Managing Director of West Hungária Bau Kft., has decided to order a further 200 plush beavers from Alíz.
“When I first received the inquiry, I thought the whole thing must be a joke. Why would WHB ask an unknown village woman like me, when they could have anyone sew anything for them? But then I realised that they were guided by a genuine intention to help — they support so many people in need — and for the first time in my life, I felt that someone truly needed me.
It made me happy that through this, they were not only helping me, but also rewarding children who had competed with their drawing talent for the chance to win the little beavers sewn by me. It was an indescribable feeling.
This was made even more overwhelming when I received a phone call saying that Attila Paár, Managing Director of WHB, wished to order another 200 beavers with the intention of supporting my work and my life. If there are words to express what I felt in that moment, I do not know what they would be. My joy was choked by tears; I felt as though the ground had opened beneath my feet.
For me, this is such an honour and joy that it cannot be measured in money. Although it means a great deal financially as well, what gives me the most from all of this is that I can bring joy to children who will have the work of my own two hands on their shelves.
Every single figure contains a piece of me; each one is my ‘child’. I still sew them with heart, soul and devotion,” Alíz said, summarising the events of recent weeks.
Her passion for sewing began when she was 10 years old. At first, she made clothes for Barbie dolls, and later she began creating unique pieces for real babies.
Under her diligent hands, the WHB beavers are continuously being made, and they will soon bring smiles to the faces of many, many children.
