At the same time as the press site visit, the load water test of the largest pool was successfully carried out in the facility, which has reached 70% technical completion. In the coming weeks, the largest task for the contractors, West Hungária Bau Kft. and Dél-Konstrukt Zrt., will be the installation of approximately 12,000 square metres of tiling.
The New Name Has Been Chosen by Vote

According to the plans, the indoor swimming pool will be completed by the end of the year, and following the handover procedure, residents of Szeged will be able to start using it at the beginning of next year, explained Mayor László Botka.
He also said that city residents had been asked to suggest a name for the new swimming pool. In response, several thousand people submitted 128 name proposals, from which a sports professional committee selected five. From these five names, the residents of Szeged chose the name Tiszavirág Sports Swimming Pool through online and postal voting.
In conclusion, the mayor said he was satisfied with the progress of the construction works.
Structural Construction Is Almost Fully Completed

Zoltán Csanádi, Managing Director, representing the client Szeged Pólus Nonprofit Kft., informed the participants that the structural construction works had been almost fully completed. The building is now enclosed, allowing the specialists of the contractor companies to continue their work inside.
In addition, 90–95% of the plasterboard partition walls in the swimming pool complex have already been constructed.

In addition:
tiling works have begun, with work currently under way in the changing rooms and pool area;
mechanical installation has also progressed beyond 90% completion, particularly in the field of ventilation technology;
high-voltage and low-voltage cables have been installed;
and numerous specialist works are ongoing throughout the increasingly impressive swimming pool complex.
Zoltán Csanádi also explained that the athletes’ changing rooms and the changing rooms open to the general public will be created separately, with the latter section to include several hundred lockers.
The grandstand of the new swimming pool will provide seating for approximately 1,200 spectators.

All Four Pools Will Be Available to Visitors
As revealed during the press site visit, all four pools will be available for use by visitors. The competition pool will feature a special design: it will be equipped with a movable dividing wall.
This can be moved to the middle of the pool, creating two 25-metre pools, or positioned at a distance of 17 metres, resulting in one 17-metre and one 33-metre section.

Separate group changing rooms will be built for the teaching pool, intended for use by kindergarten and school groups. The warm-up pool will be completed in accordance with the requirements of the international swimming federation.
The fourth pool, designed for relaxation, will have both indoor and outdoor sections, with the water temperature maintained continuously at 33°C.
A sauna park will also be created within the Tiszavirág Sports Swimming Pool. The project also includes the construction of a roundabout in front of the swimming pool, which is scheduled to be handed over in the first week of September.
