The reconstruction of the Bozsik Arena in Kispest was one of the most significant domestic sports infrastructure developments in recent years. A consortium of West Hungária Bau Kft. and Pharos ’95 Sportpályaépítő Kft. built the modern, UEFA-compliant stadium according to the plans of Óbuda Építész Stúdió Kft., which opened its doors in 2021.
The end of an era – a new stadium is born
In the first phase of the project, contractors completely demolished the old stadium, built in 1938, which had served Budapest Honvéd FC for many decades. Following the demolition, construction of the new stadium officially began on March 21, 2019, with a ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony.
The development was carried out as part of the National Stadium Development Program, funded by the state.
