The Tiszavirág Swimming Complex in Szeged is one of the most modern indoor swimming facilities in Hungary, constructed by WEST HUNGÁRIA BAU Ltd. During the execution of the approximately 30,000 m² facility, including full construction, mechanical, and water engineering works, WHB placed strong emphasis on meeting the requirements of competitive sports as well as ensuring long-term sustainable operation.
Key elements of the project include
a 50×25 m FINA-certified competition pool with a high-capacity grandstand,
a warm-up pool, teaching pools, plunge pool, and jacuzzi,
a modern sauna and wellness area,
a high-performance pool engineering system with UV filtration and automated chemical dosing,
energy-efficient HVAC and ventilation systems with heat recovery,
nearly 6,000 m² of glass surfaces providing natural daylight,
several hundred tons of steel and reinforced concrete structures supporting the large-span roof and pool areas.
The building delivered by WHB serves not only as a new hub for competitive training and talent development in Szeged, but also as a state-of-the-art community and sports facility, supporting the region’s sports life with reliable technical solutions.
