For WHB Hotels, innovation is a strategic core value. As a member of the WHB Group, the hotel chain places strong emphasis on monitoring international trends, integrating new technologies, and continuously enhancing the guest experience.
In line with this approach, András Csere, Director of the WHB Hotels hotel chain and General Manager of the four-star superior Helikon Hotel in Keszthely, together with Áron Szabó, General Manager of the four-star superior ETO Park Hotel in Győr, which is part of the WHB Hotels portfolio, visited Shanghai to attend the Hotel & Shop Plus 2026 exhibition, held from 31 March to 3 April 2026. The event is one of Asia’s leading professional platforms in the fields of design, construction, and operation of hospitality and retail spaces.
The visit was connected to the Tourism Plus Shanghai (TPS) 2026 event series, an internationally significant professional event covering the entire value chain of tourism and hospitality. As part of the programme, the representatives of WHB Hotels gained a comprehensive insight into the global trends shaping the industry, with a particular focus on digitalisation, innovative operational solutions, and new dimensions of the guest experience.
The knowledge and experience gained directly support the current and future developments of WHB Hotels. Fully renovated in 2022, the Helikon Hotel has become one of the key players in the Lake Balaton region, where high-quality services, contemporary design, and guest-centred operations have delivered tangible results.
At the same time, ETO Park Hotel is also entering a significant development phase. The planned improvements place particular emphasis on expanding the service portfolio, with a special focus on the development of wellness functions. The goal is to create a complex, experience-based service environment that further strengthens the hotel’s position in both the domestic and international markets.
The professional visit to Shanghai provided not only inspiration but also clear strategic directions for WHB Hotels. The company’s objective is to combine the most advanced international solutions with the needs of the domestic market, ensuring that it remains a key player in the tourism sector in the long term.
