Few partnerships in the Hungarian construction industry are built on foundations as strong and enduring as the collaboration between WEST HUNGÁRIA BAU Kft. (WHB) and VELUX Magyarország LKR Kft. Dating back to the mid-1990s, this relationship has evolved over the decades into a prime example of how a professional cooperation can grow into a long-term strategic alliance founded on trust, reliability, and shared values.
Decades of Partnership: The Shared Success Story of WHB and VELUX
The Foundations – From the Early Years to General Contracting Excellence
WHB first became involved in projects for VELUX Magyarország LKR Kft. in the mid-1990s as a subcontractor to Pannon Team. During this period, the company primarily participated in interior fit-out works, contributing to the delivery of numerous developments.
The partnership reached a significant milestone in 2006, when WHB began taking part in the investments as a general contractor, assuming full responsibility for project delivery. This transition not only reflects the growing trust between the two companies, but also serves as a clear demonstration of WHB’s professional development and expanding capabilities.

VELUX Magyarország LKR Kft.’s facility in Fertőd is one of the most significant locations of the partnership, where continuous developments have been carried out by WHB over the past nearly two decades.
The series of newly constructed investments clearly reflects the dynamic expansion of the site:
- construction of large-scale warehouses and production halls (facilities covering several thousand square metres)
- development of office buildings and technological support units
- implementation of special-purpose facilities, such as waste management systems
At the same time, WHB has continuously participated in building reconstruction and modernization projects, ensuring the ongoing renewal of the existing infrastructure and the continuous improvement of the production environment.
The work carried out at the site has extended far beyond buildings themselves. Large-scale roof reconstructions, the refurbishment of logistics and warehouse areas, infrastructure developments, road construction works, and the installation of charging stations have all contributed to ensuring that VELUX Magyarország LKR Kft.’s Fertőd facility remains a competitive and modern manufacturing environment in the long term.
The partnership remains active and ongoing: new developments are currently underway, including roof reconstruction works and the renovation of social and welfare facilities.

The collaboration between WEST HUNGÁRIA BAU Kft. and VELUX Magyarország LKR Kft. is far more than a series of projects; it is a continuously evolving professional partnership built on mutual trust.
Over more than two decades of working together, project volumes have steadily increased, assignments have become more complex, and the technical and quality standards of project delivery have continuously advanced.
For WHB, this partnership has also played a key role in enabling the company to undertake the general construction of industrial facilities that meet the highest expectations of the construction industry.
“The story of our projects with VELUX is, in many ways, also a reflection of WHB’s own development. We have progressed from specialist construction works to the general contracting of large-scale industrial investments. For us, this partnership represents both a professional challenge and a continuous opportunity for growth.”
– László Menyhárt, Regional Director

Today, this relationship goes far beyond a traditional client–contractor arrangement. It has become a stable, long-term partnership in which both parties actively shape industrial environments and create lasting value together for generations to come.
