West Hungária Bau Kft. contributed to the operation of the Bárczi Gusztáv Kindergarten, Primary School, Skills Development School and Dormitory with an in-kind donation worth HUF 300,000, as announced at an on-site press conference.
Since its establishment, WHB has placed strong emphasis on corporate social responsibility, with a particular focus on supporting institutions and organisations working with sick or disadvantaged children.
One event within this sponsorship strategy took place today in the courtyard of the Bárczi Gusztáv Kindergarten, Primary School, Skills Development School and Dormitory in Győr, where Vivien Váczi, Senior Officer responsible for donations and sponsorships, handed over the electrically adjustable massage bed, worth approximately HUF 300,000, to Director László Nagy on behalf of the company.
Preliminary needs assessment to ensure the most effective donation
In his speech, the Director said that the institution was very grateful for the support, and that it was particularly appreciated that the donor had provided the in-kind donation based on a preliminary needs assessment. As a result, the institution received equipment that will genuinely support the developmental work of its professionals, reduce their physical workload, and increase the effectiveness of the therapeutic activities carried out there.
The massage bed will be used for the treatment of students with severe and multiple disabilities. With the help of this equipment, the students’ movement therapy and daily mobility exercises can be carried out significantly more easily and effectively. The institution currently cares for school-age children and young people with severe and multiple disabilities in three groups, each with a maximum of six participants.
In addition to developing self-care skills, communication and awareness of their immediate environment, the institution places strong emphasis on individual motor development. The development activities are carried out by special education teachers, supported in their work by special education assistants.
Supporting disadvantaged communities has always been important to the company
In her speech, Vivien Váczi, representing WHB, emphasised that supporting disadvantaged children has always been important to the company. She added that WHB is pleased to be able to make the operation of another institution easier with this massage bed — an institution that carries out outstanding professional work in the development of children with disabilities and special needs.
The event was, of course, held in full compliance with all epidemiological and health protection rules and recommendations, thereby also protecting the children attending the institution and the adults working with them.
